Pune : deccan express – The state government has sanctioned Rs 150 crore to Maharashtra Metrorailway Corporation (MahaMetro) as the Pune Metro railway project is at its completion stage.
Till date, the state government has approved Rs 1,900 crore to Pune Metro Railway Project. Out of which, the State has disbursed 85 percent of the amount.
According to MahaMetro, the project will be operational by the end of 2022. Therefore, the remaining funds are likely to be received in the New Year.
The Urban Development Department on Thursday issued an order to disburse the first instalment of the budget allocation for the current financial year for the Metro project.
Accordingly, Mahometro will get Rs 76 crore from the state government’s equity and Rs 75 crore in the form of secondary loan.
Maha-Metro is expecting Rs 11,400 crore for the Pune and Pimpri-chinchwad metro routes. The central and state governments will contribute 20 percent of the funds each.
After the ground-breaking ceremony of Pune metro railway in 2016, the government has provided funds to Mahametro as per the progress of the work.
Pune Metro’s priority route between Pimpri Chinchwad and Phugewadi and Vanaz and Garware College is in the final stage.
Recently, the Metro Railway Safety Commissioner (CMRS) inspected the metro line in Pimpri. The route between Vanaz and Garware College will be inspected in the first week of January.
Therefore, MahaMetro has received the necessary funds from the government to complete the work at various stages. Therefore, unfinished works are likely to be completed expeditiously.
