MHADA announces lottery for Konkan division, 8205 houses available

Mumbai : Deccan Express MHADA’s Konkan division will draw a lottery for 8205 houses. The advertisement will be published on August 23 and the lottery will be drawn on October 14, State Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad said at a press conference on Thursday.

About 97 percent of the houses in the lottery are in small and marginal groups and will be provided at Shirdhon, Khoni, Bhandarli, Gotheghar, Mira Road in Thane district as well as Boling in Virar and Vengurla in Sindhudurg.

The draw will cover 70 per cent for lowest-income groups and 27 per cent for low-income groups. The cost of application for these houses will be Rs. 560. The deposit along with the application will be Rs 5,000 for the lowest income group, Rs 10,000 for the low income group, Rs 15,000 for the middle income group and Rs 20,000 for the high income group. A high level monitoring committee has been set up to conduct the entire draw in a transparent manner and the process will be completed in their presence. Deposits of applicants who fail in the draw will be refunded to their account online. Considering the overall demand for houses in the state and the success of the draw in Pune, MHADA will construct 10,000 houses in Nashik, Nagpur, Amravati, Pune and Aurangabad in the near future. These houses will be of good quality, said Awhad.

The actual work started on the second day immediately after the bhumi pujan ceremony of Worli BDD Chawl Redevelopment Project. Jitendra Awhad also expressed confidence that the picture of Worli BDD Chawl will change in 3 years.

Category wise monthly income limit

Up to Rs 25,000 for the lowest income group, Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 for the low income group,
Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 for the middle income group and more than Rs 75,000 for the higher income group.
