Maharashtra Bhushan Award conferred on the versatile singer during the grandd ceremony at the Gateway of India
Mumbai : Deccan Express – Maharashtra Bhushan Award | “The Mangeshkar family has been ruling the minds of the fans for last eight decades and had served the field of art through their songs and music. Asha Bhosle is a member of this family and I feel happy to conferred upon the Maharashtra Bhushan Award on her. Ashatai Bhosle is the pride of Maharashtra,” said chief minister Mr Eknath Shinde.
He was speaking at the program organized by the cultural affairs department of the state government on the premises of the Gateway of India for bestowing the Maharashtra Bhushan Award for the year 2021 to Asha Bhosle. The award consists of a shawl, Memento, certificate and rupees 25 lakh cash. The speaker of state legislative assembly Adv. Rahul Narvekar, Deputy Chief Minister Mr Devendra Fadnavis, guardian minister of Mumbai city Deepak Kesarkar, cultural affairs minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, chief secretary of the state Manu Kumar Shrivtastav, principal secretary of the cultural affairs department Vikas Kharge and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
Speaking further, chief minister Mr Shinde said that till date Ashatai Bhosle had sung thousands of songs in various languages. She had songs ranging from devotional songs to Disco against her name. The glory of Maharashtra Bhushan has increased thanks to her. He said that the songs sung by Ashatai are even fresh today and they will be so in the future, too. He said that she made others happy through her songs while she herself was struggling in her life. He said that the songs of Ashatai will be inspiring for all.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy chief minister Mr Fadnavis said that the musical journey of singing of Ashatai Bhosle is stunning. She is a versatile singer and it has been proved through her songs in various languages. She created different moods through her songs and her success in singing lies in that everyone loves to hum her songs. He wished her best luck by saying that May she keep serving the music sector hereafter, too.

Replying to the honor, singer Mrs Bhosle said that while accepting the Maharashtra Bhushan Award she feels as if he has returned to her parent’s house. She said that her father Dinanath Mangeshkar, Mai Mangeshkar, sister Lata Mangeshkar had blessed her through her entire journey. She said that the songs had made her life rich and the role of musicians and Co- singers in this journey cannot be forgotten. She asked the audience to listen to all types of music and songs. Actor Sumit Raghavan interviewed Ashatai on the occasion. At the beginning of the program, a documentary on the life of singer Ashatai Bhosle was screened.
