Pune: In wake of increasing Covid-19 cases across the state, the Uddhav Thackeray government has given clear instructions to authorities not be lenient with the defaulters flouting Covid norms. The administration has become vigilant and police are tightening the noose around the defaulters.
Recently, a case has been registered in Pune for the over-gathering of people in a VVIP wedding ceremony. This wedding ceremony was hosted by former MP Dhananjay Mahadik. Many VVIPs were seen without masks at his son’s wedding. Former chief ministers and ministers were also present at the wedding.

According to the sources, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and former CM Devendra Fadnavis had also attended this wedding. The son of the former BJP MP got married on Sunday. On the same day at 7 pm, CM Uddhav Thackeray was addressing the people of the state following increase in corona cases. The CM had given strict instructions to wear mask, but at this wedding, leaders were seen violating the rules.
A case has been registered at Hadapsar police station against former BJP MP Dhananjay Mahadik, Laxmi Lounge owner Vivek Magar and manager Nirupal Kedar for violating corona rules, informed Senior Police Inspector Balakrishna Kadam.
The lockdown has been implemented in many districts due to the rising corona cases in Maharashtra. Apart from this, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is appealing to the people to follow the rules. In one of his addresses, CM Uddhav Thackeray said that the government can control the spread of the disease, but people participation is a must. People need to be careful and must follow the guidelines. If people do not wear masks, then lockdown will be imposed. In view of the prevailing situation, government meetings, religious meetings and political rallies have been banned in the state.
