Rainfall likely for next three days in State, Pune and surrounding areas

Pune : deccan express   – It rained during winter across the country and Maharashtra as well. Hail storms damaged standing crops. In this backdrop, weather conditions have again become conducive for rainfall. Many places in the State, including Mumbai and Pune, are likely to receive rain in the next three days. Cloudy weather was reported on Friday in Palghar, Nashik, Dhule and Nandurbar districts. Light to medium showers are likely to occur in these four districts. It is likely to rain in Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada and north Maharashtra on Saturday. This does not auger well for agriculture, which has already suffered huge losses this season. Eleven districts, including Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Nashik, Aurangabad, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar, may witness rainfall on Saturday. Light to medium showers may occur at isolated places in these districts. Citizens travelling during the weekend have been advised to take precautions. On Sunday, rain activity may weaken. However, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts may receive rains.

 

From Monday (January 24), cold weather conditions are likely to prevail in Pune and north Maharashtra. It may persist for two days. Later, weather is likely to normalise. Pashan in the city recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 10.1 degrees Celsius. Lowest minimum temperatures at other places were (deg C): Haveli – 10.3, Shivajinagar 11, Shirur 11.1, NDA 11.1, Talegaon 11.3, Malin 11.4, Rajgurunagar 11.4 and Indapur 11.4.
