Maharashtra cabinet extend the retirement age of senior health officials to 62

Pune  Deccan Express | The State government has increased the retirement age of senior health officials to 62 years of age. The decision was taken in cabinet meeting heald recently.

Rajesh Tope, Maharashtra Health Minister on Wednesday speaking to reporters said that in view of the coronavirus pandemic, the state government has decided to give an extension in service of up to two years to civil surgeons and other senior officials in the health department beyond their retirement age of 60 years.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Presently, the age of retirement for medical officers and other senior staffers in the health department is 60 years.
Due to the pandemic situation, some senior officials and civil surgeons were given extensions for a year.
With this move, the state government aims at ensuring the availability of sufficient human resources to provide health services. The government has decided 62 years of age as a cut-off line for any official to serve in the health department.

Maha Government clears tourism policy 

The Maharashtra cabinet on Wednesday gave a nod to a policy that aims to promote adventure tourism in the state. Adventure tourism activities on land, air, and water will be developed to attract tourists, said an official release.

Organizers of such activities will have to obtain a temporary registration certificate to start with, and the final certificate will be issued only after all safety measures are put in place, the release said. There will also be the state and division-level committees of experts.
