Satara : deccan express – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today hinted at the possibility of imposing lockdown in some parts of the state. The information was given by Pawar after a meeting between Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Health Minister Rajesh Tope to discuss the new guidelines for Mumbai and Pune which may again emerge as coronavirus hot spots.
The number of coronavirus patients including those affected by the Omicron variant is increasing day by day. The state government is taking precautionary steps to tackle this threat.
Pawar had informed the media two days ago that at present, 10 ministers and 20 MLAs are infected with the coronavirus. Today, during his visit to Satara, he hinted at lockdown in some parts of the state. He said that if the number of coronavirus patients keeps increasing, the state government may take some strict measures which will be enforced throughout the state.
Recently, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that strict measures will be taken in the state if the number of coronavirus cases keeps on increasing. There is night curfew in some states at present. It is being strictly enforced in Delhi and Bengaluru.
“Masks are taken off when people eat lunch and drink tea and the virus spreads rapidly during such times. Hence, we should exercise due caution,” he said.
