SPPU’s DMCS is fourth in top 10 Mass Communication institutes in India | India Today survey

Deccan Express: Savitribai Phule Pune Univesity’s (SPPU) Department of Media and Communication Studies stood fourth in the top 10 Mass communication institutes in India. The survey was conducted by India Today magazine recently.
India Today magazine conducted a survey of education institutes across India. And in Mass Media Category the department secured the fourth position.

This is the second consecutive year where the department secured the fourth position in the list.

The magazine highlights how the department during Corona Pandemic took steps to make the education students-centric. The department used MS teams to conduct lectures and practical exams and even evaluate students online.

The magazine also mentioned students’ perspectives about online education and their experiences with the department.

Madhavi Reddy, HOD of DMCS said, “This is a result of efforts of all teaching, non-teaching staff, and students. It was collective efforts that helped the institute maintain the fourth position among central government-run and private institutes in the list even in a pandemic situation.
