Deccan Express:  In the last 24 hours, 54,022 new patients were found in Maharashtra. The state government has imposed strict restrictions in the state due to the rising corona outbreak. Of course, these restrictions have been extended till May 15. But will it continue to grow? In this regard, Health Minister Dr. Rajesh Tope said that the number of patients in Maharashtra is increasing by more than 50,000 every day. So the situation is not under control as it should be. This could lead to a few more days of restrictions in Maharashtra, Tope said.

Rajesh Tope said the corona positivity rate in the state has not come down as it should. Out of 36 districts, rates have come down in 12 districts. But the situation is not over yet. So if the restrictions are lifted, the situation could get out of hand once again. Also, the number of covid infected patients is still increasing in some districts. The next picture will be clear by May 15 regarding the decision of lockdown in the state, Tope said.

Meanwhile, the government in Maharashtra is also preparing for the third wave. So, the state government is constantly trying to figure out how to increase the number of beds, oxygen, remedial injections as well as other medical facilities. He further said that the government is also making efforts to speed up vaccination against COVID-19.
