Pune | Wakad police arrest absconding bus driver for ramming into two-wheeler

Pune : deccan express – The Wakad police have arrested the driver of a bus for ramming into a two-wheeler and injuring two people travelling by it resulting in death of one of them.


The driver did not take the injured to the hospital but ran away from the spot. The accident happened on December 28 at 10.45 pm at Barne corner in Thergaon.


The deceased has been identified as Shubham Baban Gaikwad (20), a resident of Ashwini Colony, Jyotibanagar, Kalewadi, Pune. The injured has been identified as Nandu Dnynaeshwar Lokhande. A case has been registered at Wakad police station.


The police have arrested Prakash Shyamrao Burange (27), a resident of Vrindavan Colony in Kalewadi.


An unidentified bus rammed into a two wheeler seriously inuring the two people travelling by it. The bus driver escaped. Shubham Gaikwad died and Nandu Lokhande was injured. No information was available about the bus. The police visited the spot and collected information from the locals.


The police examined the CCTV footage from the area. They came to know that the bus was going to arrive near Aditya Birla Hospital.


The police laid a trap and arrested the accused. He admitted to the crime after being interrogated. PSI Ashok Jagtap is investigating the case.
