Pune: Trekkers in and around the city have a reason to rejoice now. The district administration has allowed trekking and other adventure activities on historical forts and mountain peaks. The district administration has asked trekkers to follow certain guidelines while doing their trekking and adventure activities.

Guidelines:

  • Trekkers group should have maximum 15 persons
  • Thermal screening of each member should be done mandatorily
  • If there are more persons, then the group should be split in order to maintain the maximum limit of 15
  • Using masks is mandatory

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol has shared this information on his twitter account. Mohol in his tweet in Marathi made at 5pm on Sunday, says the district administration has allowed trekking activities on forts and mountain peaks. He has also shared a document of district administration office which is addressed to the All Maharashtra Trekkers Federation. The Federation had on October 22 requested district officials to give clarity about permission for trekking activities. Replying to the federations request, the district officials have said that trekking has now been permitted on certain terms and conditions.
