Pune : deccan express – President of State Women Commission Rupali Chakankar has acknowledged the harassment faced by women passengers at the Mancher bus stand. A person named Tejas Padwal had raised the issue on Twitter that a toilet attendant at the Manchar bus stand is harassing the women passengers using the public restroom.
Padwal in his tweet had said that the attendant in question is resorting to improper behavior such as charging extra money, misbehaving, and use of abusive words to the women who refuse to pay. He also highlighted the absence of a woman attendant for the women’s restroom, which is causing inconvenience.
The toilet block is located at Manchar Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation bus stand in Ambegaon taluka of Pune District.
Padwal, in his tweet, mentioned Maharashtra State Transport Minister Anil Parab, Home Minister Dilip Valse-Patil, and the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray along with State Women Commission Rupali Chakankar.
Chakankar has replied to Padwal’s tweet assuring that strict action will be taken against the attendant today itself. However, it remains to be seen what action the state government takes in this regard.
