Pune crime | Handcart vendor kidnapped from home for not paying ransom in Vishrantwadi

Pune : deccan express – Pune crime |  A youth selling snacks on a handcart was kidnapped by extortionists at a time when youth are trying to do some business as there are not enough jobs in the market. It seems such extortionists are present at every nook and corner of the city.

In this case, the youth was kidnapped and beaten up and was threatened with kidnapping again, if he failed to pay ransom in the future.

The Vishrantwadi police have arrested Abhijit Datta Pakhare (24), a resident of Akash Park, Dhanori, and Srishailya Somnath Mhaske (20), a resident of Prajasattak Colony, Dhanori. Their other aides Harshal Gunjal, Shekhar Londhe have also been booked. (Pune crime | )

Nilesh Tulshiram Ahirwar (22), a resident of Dhanori, lodged a complaint in this connection. The incident happened at around 4.30 pm on Saturday. According to the police, the complainant and his brother were at home when four persons acquainted with them entered their house. They demanded Rs 6,000 ransom per month for running the snack cart. The complainant refused to oblige.

The accused then kidnapped the complainant from his home and forced him to get into a car belonging to Abhijit Pakhare. He was taken to a remote place in Hadapsar, where they beat him up. He was asked to pay the ransom, failing which they would not release him and threatened him with kidnapping again. Later, they went away.

The Vishrantwadi police arrested the two accused. API Nikam is investigating the matter.
