Pune : Deccan Express | Pune Crime | Uttam Nagar Police arrested a builder for allegedly defrauding eleven people of Rs 1 crore 18 lakh on the basis of fake documents. He has been arrested in another case (Pune Crime).
Mahesh Ramchandra Tikhe (resident of Kothrud) is the name of the arrested builder. A case has been registered against him and 33 others at Uttamnagar police station. A 45-year-old woman has lodged a complaint in this regard. The incident took place at Kondhawe Dhawade between 2013 and 2018. The plaintiff had reserved a flat on the second floor of the project building of accused Tikhein Kondhawe Dhawade area. For this, he paid a total of Rs 6.15 lakh to the accused. He also signed a registration agreement for this flat. However, Tikhe had already canceled the agreement with the land owner, he still made an agreement with the plaintiffs by producing false documents.
The accused had also agreed to provide common parking, common toilets, plumbing etc. in addition to the flats in the planned building. However, none of these facilities were provided. The complaint alleges that the accused conspired to defraud the plaintiffs by pretending that he was genuine.
Accused Tikhe was produced in court on Monday. A public inquiry has revealed that Tikhe and other accused had defrauded ten others. Assistant Public Prosecutor Kiran Bendbhar demanded that the accused be remanded in police custody for further investigation. Accepting the demand, First Class Magistrate Janhvi Kelkar remanded him in police custody till July 31.
