Pune : deccan express – A woman’s presence of mind not only helped the bus driver to reach hospital but also ensured safety of her other women colleagues, who could reach home safely.
The brave woman, Yogita Dharmendra Satav, took control of the steering wheel after its driver suffered from a fit. The incident happened when a 22-23 women’s group from Wagholi visited Morachi Chincholi on a picnic. They were returning home from the picnic spot when the driver suffered a fit.
All women got frightened. However, Satav drove the bus herself and reached to the next village on their way, where the driver was treated. Another driver was summoned and the women reached home safely by travelling a 40-km distance till Wagholi.
Wagholi former sarpanch Jayashree Satav Patil, along with her colleague and picnic organiser Asha Waghmare, felicitated Yogita Satav after visiting her home. Jayashree Satav said, “Though many women drive four-wheeler vehicles. However, brave Yogita Satav drove a bus in a serious situation and saved the lives of driver and fellow women travellers.”
