Pune | Accused of theft, 17-year-old commits suicide; Kondhwa police books employer

Pune : deccan express –  A 17-year-old girl, who worked as a domestic help, committed suicide on Saturday after her employer accused her of stealing chappal from the house. Kondhwa police have booked the employer in the case.


The deceased, Payal Babu Chavan (17) was a resident of Krushnanagar in Mohammadwadi. She worked as a domestic help in the house of Pallavi Ritesh Agrawal (40). The deceased mother lodged a complaint against Agrawal with Kondhwa police.


Pallavi had put the blame of stealing a purse and chappal on Payal. She harassed Payal in different ways. Payal was depressed due to the treatment given to her by her employer and committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence.


Kondhwa police are investigating the matter.
