Pune | Accused in Pimpale Gurav murder case fire at policemen, arrested

Pune : deccan express  –  The police squads which went to nab three accused in the Pimpale Gurav shooting and murder case was fired at. The police also fired three rounds of bullets in self-defence. The incident happened at Koye village at 11.15 pm on Sunday within the Chakan police station jurisdiction.

 

The three accused have been arrested. They have been identified as Ganesh Hanumant Mote (23), a resident of Sangvi, Mahesh Tukaram Mane (23), a resident of Sangvi and hails from Bhum taluka of Osmanabad, and Ashwin Anandrao Chavan (21), a resident of Sangvi and hails from Barshi taluka of Solapur.

 

API Satish Kamble lodged a complaint at the Sangvi police station in this regard.

 

Yogesh Ravindra Jagtap (36) of Pimpale Gurav was killed in a broad daylight firing on December 18 at Pimpale Gurav. The Sangvi police filed an offence against 11 people in this connection. An investigation squad of the Sangvi police station comprising Senior PI Sunil Tonpe, API Satish Kamble, API Harish Mane, and others was trying to track the accused.

 

Acting on a tip-off that the accused were hiding at Koye, Kurankudi village near Chakan in Khed taluka, four teams led by Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, ACP Prashant Amrutkar and other officers left for Koye. While searching for the accused, they spotted a black two-wheeler near a house in a farm.

 

The accused got wind of the police presence. They tried to flee and fired a round of bullet at a police team. They also fired another round of bullet at another team coming by road. Senior PI Tonpe and API Kamble fired at the accused. CP Krishna Prakash pushed a collapsed tree on the accused when they tried to escape in a bush. They fell down and were caught by the police team.

 

This action was taken by the police teams comprising CP Krishna Prakash, ACP Prashant Amrutkar, Senior PI Sunil Tonpe, API Satish Kamble, API Harish Mane, police personnel Chavan, More, Gengaje, Narale, Choudhary, Muluk, Patil, Gaikwad, Suryawanshi, Baba, Telewar, and Kadam.
