PCMC suspends two clerks for taking bribe

Pimpri : deccan express  – Two clerks from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s tax collection department, who were held for taking a bribe, have been suspended. (PCMC)

A departmental enquiry has been ordered against both the accused.

The accused Pravin Shantaram Kothavale and Haibati Vithal More were working in the Thergaon tax collection office of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. (PCMC)

On December 18, the Anti-Corruption Bureau had arrested them red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 8,500 for completing documentation work for transfer of property and change in tax receipt.

A complaint had been lodged at Wakad police station.

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil issued orders to conduct an enquiry against the two clerks and suspended them for misusing their powers and maligning the image of the civic body.
