Lonavala police booked four tourists damaging police property

Deccan Express | Lonavala police booked four tourists for allegedly creating ruckus in the Lonavala city on Saturday.

They are booked for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway and shouting in public places.

After detaining for questioning they were brought to police post there also they smashed the window glass of the traffic police post.

Nitendra Ramachandra Kadam, a head constable has registered a case with the Lonavla city police station. The accused has been identified as  Saneet Sambhaji Salve (22), Ganesh Sambhaji Salve (24), Navnath Sambhaji Salve (30), all natives of Pune and currently were living in Mumbai, another accused Ramdas Baban Aute (30) is a resident of Shirur taluka in Pune.

The accused have been charged for offenses under sections 427 (damage to property), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, Prohibition Act, Maharashtra Police Act, and Epidemic Diseases Act.

As per the complaint, the incident took place on July 10, evening at around 5 pm between Avon Chikki Chowk to Kumar Chowk on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway.

Four youths not only violated the Corona restrictions but also creating loud noise while traveling in a car after consuming liquor.

Jayaraj Patankar, police personnel is investigating under the guidance of Dilip Pawar, police inspector of Lonavala police station.
