Krishna Prakash Appointed New Police Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad

PCMC: After Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Sandeep Bishnoi has been transferred, The Home Department has appointed the IPS officer Krishna Prakash as the new Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner.

Prakash is the first IG rank officer to complete Ironman and Ultraman triathlons. He is also the first Indian to finish the Race Across The West (RAW) cycle race. He often practised at Manas Lake in Pirangut and did Mumbai-Pune cycling trip several times. He claims himself to be a people’s officer, motivational speaker and creative writer.

Krishna Prakash, a 1998 batch IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre hails from, Hazaribagh in Jharkhand. Earlier, he was transferred to Mumbai in 2012 as Additional Commissioner, South Region. Currently, he is posted as Maharashtra State Special Inspector General of Police (administration) in the state police headquarters in Mumbai.

Bishnoi was transfers before the end of his term. Bishnoi was appointed as the Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police on September 21 last year. In just eleven months of his tenure, he tried to curb crime in the city. There was also open resentment about him among many officers.

Meanwhile, an NCP MLA was not satisfied withDeputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar over the Commissioner of Police for Bishnoi’s appointment. However the discussions of replacement began and decision taken by Prakash’s appointment.

Krishna Prakash is the third commissioner in the last two years.
