Koregaon Bhima Commission | State government grants six-month extension again to panel probing Koregaon-Bhima incident

Pune : deccan express – Koregaon Bhima Commission | The Joint Secretary of Home Department, PG Deshmukh, has said that the state government has given a six-month extension to the commission which is probing the Koregaon Bhima incident, to submit its report by June 30, 2022.

The government has appointed a committee headed by a retired chief justice of the Kolkata High Court.

The term of the commission is ending on December 31, 2021. Earlier also, the government had extended the tenure of the panel till December 31.

The commission is yet to record the testimony of some witnesses. While recording the testimony, some of them have to be cross-examined and this is taking time.

Hence, the panel had requested the state government to grant an extension to the tenure, said the advocate for the panel Ashish Satpute. The state government considered the request and granted an extension.
