Epiphany 2021 | Virtual UG State summit held

Deccan Express | The Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, M.A Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences of Research Centre, Pune organized the first virtual UG State summit ‘Epiphany 2021’ from 5th- 7th July 2021.

The Inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr.P.A Inamdar (President, MCE society), Dr. Ramandeep Dugal (Principal), and  R. A. Shaikh (Registrar). The Guest of Honour for the event was Dr. S.E Shroff, a senior Oral Pathologist of Maharashtra, Professor Emeritus at GDC and H, Mumbai and a private Practitioner with half a century of work experience.He unveiled a mosaic picture of all oral pathologists of the state as a tribute to them.

The organizing chairman Dr. Ajit Koshy (Prof and Head, Dept. of Oral Pathology and Microbiology) and his team worked hard for the success of the event. Dr Samantha Thakur was responsible for the hands-on session and documentary on Forensic Odontology.

The event Included 1300 participants from 32 colleges of the state of Maharashtra for both curricular and co-curricular activities. The live streaming of the event was well received and appreciated by faculty and students alike and crossed over 3600 views.

A first of its kind the summit included a kaleidoscope of panelist of Oral Pathologists, Forensic Odontologists, Oral Physicians and Maxillofacial Radiologists and Oral Surgeons from around the world and India covering a spectrum of topics ranging from the future prospects for dental students, Forensic odontology to the current topic that plagues the dental field Mucormycosis and was presented as lectures, panel discussion and documentary.
