People with diabetes have the highest risk of black fungus. Regarding this, Rajesh Tope said, “So far, 90 people have died due to Mucormycosis in Maharashtra. This is a serious condition. So we need to take this seriously. COVID-19 patients should not use steroids to prevent black fungus disease. There are currently 1500 patients in the state. Of these, 850 are active patients. So 500 patients have gone home after treatment. Amphotericin-B injection is demanded in the disease of Mucormycosis. Also, under Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, all ration card holders will be given free injections by the state government.
In addition, plastic surgeons, neurosurgeons and dentists are needed for this disease. Mahatma Jyotirao Phule has been listed in 1000 hospitals under Jan Arogya Yojana. There will be free treatment. The scheme covers Rs 1.5 lakh.
