Coronavirus Pune: Know which PMC ward has highest number of cases

Pune: The coronavirus pandemic has heavily come for Pune district as the cases are continuously rising despite rigorous testing in the worst affected areas. As per the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, the COVID-19 case accounts in the city rose by 779 to 1,42,915 on Monday. With 33 people succumbing to the infection, the death toll went up to 3,406.

Outside PMC: 28  

The total of 1,105 patients were discharged after recovery during the day, taking the number of active cases to 17,228. As per the update, 1,22,218 people have recovered/discharged as of now. The 3,212 tests were conducted on Monday, the total number of tests conducted reached to 6,15,420.

Meanwhile, PMC has also issued a ward wise breakdown of the COVID-19 cases as of September 27. Yesterday, the 1,548 cases were reported within the limits of PMC. With 784 cases, Pimpri-Chinchwad’s count increased to 73,260. The number of positive cases in rural and Pune Cantonment Board areas increased to 54,614.

Looking at the ongoing situation of Pune, Punekars and many on social media are wondering whether the administration is considering imposing another lockdown. However, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Pune’s Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar has clarified that there will be no random decision. The decisions will be made after thorough discussion on it.
