Pune : Deccan Express  Pune Kasba Peth Bypoll Election | Ravindra Dhangekar has been announced as the candidate for the Kasba bypoll election from the Indian National Congress (INC) party. Earlier, he saluted the statue of Lokmanya Tilak at Kesariwada. Dhangekar went to the residence of late MLA Mukta Tilak and met her husband Shailesh Tilak. He saluted the image of Mukta Tilak. On this occasion, Shailesh Tilak gave Ravindra Dhangekar good wishes for the election.

While talking to the media,Dhangekar said, “I received a call from Nana Patole last night. He said that I have to file the nomination form and start preparing for it. Accordingly, before filing the nomination form, I visited the family of Mukta Tilak at Kesariwada and paid obeisance to her. The Puneites thought that the family member of late MLA Mukta Tilak would be nominated. However, that didn’t happen. Puneites are upset over this. The BJP is fighting this election taking voters for granted. Therefore, the Puneites will definitely show the BJP its place.”

The bye-elections have been announced in the Kasba and Chinchwad constituencies which fell vacant after the death of late MLAs Mukta Tilak and Laxman Jagtap, respectively. Wife of Late MLA Laxman Jagtap, Ashwini Jagtap has been nominated by the ruling BJP from the Chinchwad constituency. Hemant Rasane has been nominated from the Kasba assembly constituency. Family member of late MLA Mukta Tilak was not nominated from the Kasba by-election.
