Deccan Express Mumbai : Two-day’s Assembly Monsoon Session of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is starting from today. The Maharashtra government is mainly focusing on 3 resolutions. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis including many prominent leaders of BJP have indicated this.

What can be the three main resolutions of the Maharashtra Government?
Farmers in many parts of the country have strongly opposed the agricultural laws of the central government. For more than the last 6-7 months, the protest of farmers has been going on in the capital Delhi. Against this background, a resolution will be brought against the agricultural laws of the central government in this Assembly Monsoon Session.

A proposal will be brought related to this demand that the central government should intervene on the issue of Maratha reservation. The Supreme Court has rejected the review petition of the Central Government in this regard. The Mahavikas Aghadi government will demand from the central government that by making constitutional reforms, the state should be empowered to give reservation and a law should be made by the Parliament to relax the maximum limit of 50 percent reservation.

Along with Maratha reservation, the issue of political reservation of OBCs is also important. The BJP has demanded that elections to local bodies should not be held until the political reservation of OBCs is restored. Keeping this issue in mind, the Mahavikas Aghadi government will demand the Center to give the imperial data related to the OBC category. The proposal related to this is in preparation to bring the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Whereas the opposition says that for OBC reservation, the imperial data has to be submitted to the state government through the State Backward Classes Commission. It doesn’t need a center.

MPSC exam committee
Swapnil Lonkar, resident of Pune, committed suicide just before the monsoon session and since then, Maharashtra government stressed. Swapnil had cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination two years ago. It has been two years but till now the process of interview and appointment has not started. After the Swapnil committed suicide, it was discussed in the state cabinet meeting. The state government will now constitute a committee for this. This committee will prepare a report of the examination and present it to the government.
