Pune : Deccan Express Pune news | Santosh Dhoke has recently taken over as the new director of Lohegaon Airport. While accelerating the ongoing work of airport expansion, the emphasis will be on enhancing passenger-centric facilities, Dhoke explained. Dhoke was the director of Srinagar Airport from 2019 to 21. He has been transferred to Pune by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Dhoke has accepted the post. Kuldeep Singh, the defunct director of Pune Airport, has been transferred as the director of Srinagar Airport.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhoke said, “Pune is a big city, it is a pleasure to work here. In the pre-Corona period, a large number of passengers used to come and go from Pune Airport. Now that the number of planes has decreased, the number of passengers has also decreased. It will be an attempt to undo. It will also expedite the ongoing expansion of the airport and focus on increasing passenger-centric facilities,” he said, adding that efforts were being made to increase the number of flights to Pune and Bangalore in South India.
Dhoke is a resident of Indore in Madhya Pradesh. He joined the Airports Authority of India in 1994. He holds a B.A. in Electronics and Telecommunications. Tech. He has also successfully completed the International Airport Professional (IAP) course. Dhoke has previously worked as an airport director in Baroda, Raipur.
