Thane:Deccan Express – Problems are increasing for the then CP of Thane and Mumbai and DG, Home Guard Param Bir Singh. One more FIR was lodged against him in the Thane Nagar Police Station. An FIR each has already been filed against him in Mumbai and Thane. Besides Singh, some more police officers have been booked. The complaint was filed by Ketan Tanna, Sonu Jalan and Riyaz Bhati. A case was filed against Singh after recording statements of the three complainants.
The complaint names 27 more people, besides Singh. Among them are eight police officers and staff. Notorious goon Ravi Pujari is one of the accused. They have been booked under robbery, threatening, extortion and seven other sections. Among the police officials booked are anti-extortion squad chief Pradeep Sharma, Rajkumar Kothmire, ACP N.T. Kadam and two policemen.
Meanwhile, the three complainants were fighting against Param Bir Singh for the past three days. Jalan said it was a victory of the judicial system.
One FIR in Mumbai and two in Thane
This is the second FIR lodged against Singh in Thane after one in Mumbai. Complainant Sharad Agarwal filed a complaint against Param Bir Singh, Parag Manere and three others under various sections at the Kopari police station within the jurisdiction of the Thane police commissionerate.
Agarwal’s complaint stated that Singh and others recovered ransom from him by threatening to frame him in fake cases.
Earlier, builder Sham Sundar from Bhayandar filed an extortion case at the Marine Drive police station for demanding Rs 15 crore ransom. The State Investigation Team is investigating the case.
