New Delhi / Mumbai : Sonu Sood | Income tax officials on Wednesday inspected six locations, including the Mumbai and Delhi offices of Sonu Sood, a well-known film actor who helped thousands of migrant workers reach their hometowns during the Corona pandemic. The reason behind this investigation is not yet revealed.
Sonu’s financial income, expenses, investments, his financial transactions, books of accounts were all inspected by the Income Tax Department officials. The Income Tax Department inspected five places in Mumbai and one factory in Lucknow related to Sonu. Meanwhile, the controversy has been sparked whether the investigation was due to Sonu Sood’s recent appointment by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a goodwill ambassador for the Delhi government’s education scheme?
“A recent deal between Sonu Sood’s company and a Lucknow-based real estate firm is under the scanner. The survey operation has been initiated on allegations of tax evasion on this deal,” sources in the Income Tax department claimed.
This is not the first time Sonu Sood has been raided. He was among Bollywood personalities raided in 2012 over alleged tax evasion.
The 48-year-old actor has been in films for the past two decades but it was his amazing philanthropy during the pandemic that made him a household name.
