All schools in PMC and PCMC areas to remain shut on Thursday due to heavy rains

Pune: Deccan ExpressPune Rain | The intensity of the rain has increased in Pune and surrounding areas. The IMD has forecast very heavy rain for the next two days. Against this background, the PMC and PCMC have declared a holiday for all primary, secondary and higher secondary schools on July 14 (Thursday) in its jurisdiction. This is applicable to all municipal schools, private schools, unaided and aided schools. The Municipal Commissioner of PCMC Rajesh Patil had also declared for schools on Wednesday also. The rainfall has increased in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad since the last few days. Since it is raining heavily, water has accumulated in many areas. The IMD has forecast a red alert for two days. It has also forecast very heavy rain for the next two days.

 

Hence, orders have been issued by the education officer of the PMC and Municipal Commissioner of PCMC Rajesh Patil that all pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher secondary schools (aided, non aided and partially aided) will remain closed on Thursday (July 14).
