Pune : deccan expressAmidst increasing Covid-19 patients in Pune, there is a possibility of issuance of stricter guidelines in coming days. City Mayor Murlidhar Mohol hinted at this possibility in a press conference on Monday. (Restrictions in Pune)

He said, “Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will conduct a review meeting on Tuesday. After the meeting, the State government may issue more restrictions. At present, the situation is under control. We have made all necessary arrangements as per the state government directives.”

Mohol said, “The number of Covid-19 patients is increasing rapidly in the past few weeks. Despite full vaccination, around 80-85 percent of people are getting infected. Symptoms are mild but the rate of infection is higher. Out of a total 2,500 infected persons, only 343 are hospitalised.”

“We have stocked 4,000 Remdesivir injections. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is producing 1,800 to 9,500 litres of oxygen per minute at various municipal plants. We are fully prepared to restart Jumbo hospital in a week, he added.

He further said, “The Municipal Corporation has started vaccination for teens in the 15 to 18 age group. We have vaccinated 2 lakh teens on Monday. We will increase oxygen beds and hospitals as per requirement. We will form a squad to control social gatherings.”

The Mayor said, “We are in touch with three lakh people who have taken only one dose. They are not eager to take second doses of the vaccine. They will be persuaded to take the second one.”
