Pune : deccan express – The 15th edition of Bhimthadi Jatra will be held at the College of Agriculture Pune Ground (Sinchan Nagar) from December 22-26 this year.
The fest is held for social, economic, and educational empowerment of women entrepreneurs and to boost rural agro-economy. It is jointly organised by the Agriculture Development Trust, Baramati, and Mahatma Phule Agriculture University, Rahuri.
The inauguration of the fest will be done by successful businesswomen at 4 pm on December 22. The theme of the festival is ‘Environment Supported Habitation’, said one of the trustees Sunanda Pawar.
This year, women entrepreneurs from 11 states and 22 districts will take part in the fest spread over 230 stalls. Organic products, tribal art, projects of Young India will be showcased in the exhibition. Visitors will have an opportunity to taste exotic delicacies from the rural regions.
“Last year, the women entrepreneurs incurred heavy losses as the fest was withdrawn due to COVID-19 restrictions,” Pawar said, adding, “Necessary precautions such as a mandatory two-dose certificate for entry and more distance in two stalls to avoid crowding have been taken. However, the cultural programs will not take place.”
