Pune : deccan express The process of regularising gunthewari constructions took off on Monday (January 10). A charge of Rs 5 is being recovered per square metre. The Building and Permission Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) announced the regularisation system.

The state government has approved regularisation of gunthewari constructions. Thus, illegal houses and buildings built before December 31, 2020 will be regularised. Owners of such buildings can submit a proposal online through their architects or engineers.

A challan needs to be procured after checking the proposal from the single window at the city engineer’s office in the PMC main building. The challan fees needs to be paid at Bank of Maharashtra on the ground floor at the PMC main building or online. The challan payment proof and the complete gunthewari file and documents need to be submitted at the single window of the Building Permission Department.

A Peth-wise list will be made of the received cases, which will be transferred to building inspectors of the zones concerned. The Building Permission Department has fixed the responsibilities of the building inspectors, deputy engineers and executive engineers in the seven zones to conduct the gunthewari process. A written order has been issued in this regard by the Building Permission Superintendent Engineer.
