Pimpri : Deccan Express – Pimpri corporation | As many as 44 officers and employees of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation are facing difficulties due to caste verification. Their caste claims have been declared invalid (Pimpri News). This includes office superintendent, junior engineer, chief clerk, driver, peon, laborer. They will no longer get pay rises, promotions. The majority will get the same monthly salary and allowances as before they were promoted to the post till retirement. Commissioner Rajesh Patil has given orders in this regard.
The High Court has ruled that protection in the government service is not payable to persons whose caste claims have been declared invalid after they have entered the government service on the basis of reservation for backward castes. There are instructions to fix the number of officers and staff of the Scheduled Tribes according to their cadre. The caste claims of 44 officers and employees of Scheduled Tribes in the Municipal Corporation have been declared invalid.
It includes an office superintendent, a junior engineer, a chief clerk, two clerks, two firefighters, a surveyor, a meter inspector, a sports teacher, two civil assistants, a driver, a social worker, a plumber, 13 laborers, eight soldiers, such as total 44 employees. Their service has been categorized as majority. They will continue to hold the position for a period of 11 months or as long as they are in service, temporarily to alleviate the problem of administration from a humanitarian point of view.
These employees will be paid the same monthly salary and allowances as they were receiving before they were promoted to the post of service superintendent till further orders. Officers, employees have been appointed in the same department in which they are currently working. “After receiving the recommendations of the study group set up by the government regarding the retirement benefits of these employees, further action will be taken accordingly,” Patil said in the order. The order will be recorded in the service book of 44 employees.
Deputy Commissioner of Administration Subhash Ingle said, “Caste claims of 44 officers and employees have been declared invalid. Their service is categorized as majority. They were getting the same monthly salary and allowances as before they were promoted to the post of service superintendent. They will not get any appraisal. Or they will not be promoted. Also they will not get the benefit of Dhanvantari scheme ”.
