New Delhi : deccan express – Jharkhand Additional Director General (ADG) of Police Sanjay Latkar has been honoured with the President’s Medal for his distinguished service on the eve of Republic Day. The prestigious honour is bestowed upon select IPS officers in the country.
ADG Latkar has served the police force for over 26 years in Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and CRPF. Earlier, he was honoured with various eight awards for his meritorious service, including President’s Gallantry Award, Internal Security Award twice, Chief Minister’s Gallantry Award, President’s Medal for Meritorious Service and Union Home Ministry’s Best Service Medal, etc.
He has been honoured by the Bihar and Jharkhand governments on many occasions. He received 11 DG, CRPF Commendation Discs during his tenures as the DIG of CRPF, Gadchiroli, Ranchi, Nagpur and Mumbai and for his anti-Naxalite drive as the IGP. He has got over 60 certificates for the best performance.
IPS Latkar served earlier in Maharashtra as the SP in Parbhani and Latur. He was also Addl CP in Pune and DIG, ATS. The Maharashtra Government has honoured him twice with citations. The State Minority Commission has conferred the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award on him.
