Pune : Deccan Express – MLA Sunil Tingre | A huge park will be developed on a 7.5 acre land for residents in Kharadi and Vadgaon Sheri. The garden will be set up using Rs 20-crore funds granted by the state government. CSR funds are also being used for the first time in the city for this purpose. The bhumi-pujan ceremony of the garden will be performed by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and State Tourism Minister Aditi Tatkare on March 13. This was revealed by Vadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingre.
Giving details about the project, Tingre said, “Residents of Kharadi and Vadgaon Sheri were demanding a big garden in the area for many years. I came to know about this demand while campaigning for the last state elections. I promised to fulfill this demand after getting elected. I immediately started working for the purpose. This is the first step in that direction. The park will be developed on a 7.5-acre land at survey no. 30 in Kharadi. The state government has granted Rs 20 crore for the oxygen park. The garden is a result of efforts made by ministers Ajit Pawar and Aditi Tatkare. They will perform the bhumi-pujan.”
Interiors suitable for all age groups
The oxygen park will be the biggest and most diverse garden in the city. There will be a flower garden, chromo therapy garden, puzzle garden, adventure sports for children, a senior citizens spot, lawns for yoga and laughter clubs, an open gym, a jogging and walking track, amphitheatre, a cycle track, and a pagoda in the park. CCTV cameras will installed at many places in the garden. A hawkers’ zone will be established outside the garden.
Various facilities available
A separate building will be built, where there will be a parking lot at the ground floor. It will have an ATM, a study centre, a gym and quarters for security guards. The building will have a solar system. Advertisements will be displayed on the walls of this building to generate revenue for the park’s upkeep. Thus, the oxygen park will take Vadgaon Sheri-Kharadi to a new height, said MLA Tingre.
