Mumbai : Deccan Express | Maharashtra Rain | Maharashtra is receiving extremely heavy rainfall since the past few days. The torrential rains have caused floods in many places. Many civilians have lost their lives during this period. The figures given by the state government in this regard are certainly shocking. According to Vijay Wadettiwar, Minister of State for Relief and Rehabilitation, 136 people have lost their lives so far in the state.
According to state aid and rehabilitation minister Vijay Wadettiwar, 136 people have lost their lives in the two-month period from June 1 to July 23, 2021. Citizens have lost their lives due to torrential rains, floods and other situations born out of this. So far 45 civilians are missing.
70 civilians have been injured during this period. 38 animals have been killed. As many as 1200 people have been evacuated in Ratnagiri district due to torrential rains.

Fear of rise in death toll :
The figures provided by the state government cover 21 districts. Also, it is learned that some civilians are still missing in the accident that took place in Ratnagiri, Raigad. Therefore, the new figures to be released by the state government in the next two to three days are expected to increase the death toll.
