Solapur : deccan express – Global Teacher awardee Ranjitsinh Disale faces disciplinary action. He is a zilla parishad teacher at the Zilla Parishad School, Paritewadi, taluka Madha of the district. An inquiry report readied 11 months ago has been accepted. Disciplinary action has been proposed against him, said Primary Education Officer Dr Kiran Lohar on Friday.
Disale was present at the Zilla Parishad, Solapur on Thursday. He applied for a leave as he wanted to pursue a PhD in the USA. However, Lohar asked him his contribution to the school. She sent him back to his school telling to apply in the prescribed form to the head master.
The issue was discussed on social media. Disale’s supporters condemned this while others wanted to know the exact reason behind the action.
When contacted, Lohar said that they had received a complaint about Disale’s Global Teacher award. An inquiry commission was formed to look into the complaint. Education officer Maruti Phadke, extension officer Uma Salunkhe, Subhash Dadhe, head master Rameshwar Londhe, extension officer Bandu Shinde were the five members of the probe panel. The committee submitted its report on March 25, 2021. Six aspects were considered in the report.
After receiving the Global Teacher award, Disale was posted on deputation at the District Training Institute to train other teachers in the district. His term was extended. However, he was not on duty during this period. Then he was transferred back to the ZP school, where he did not report to work for three years, said the probe panel.
Disale rejects findings in the report
Ranjitsinh Disale has rejected the findings in the committee’s report. In a letter, he said that the Global Teacher award has expanded his work. He has been travelling across the State, not just restricting to the district.
Rathod’s remarks on the inquiry report
The then Education Officer Sanjaykumar Rathod had remarked on the report twice that the members should discuss it. Hence, the report was delayed. Dr Lohar studied the file after taking charge. She accepted the report.
Salary without work
Disale remained absent from his duty for three years without taking official permission. His salary of four months was held back after a complaint was filed. However, he took salary for three years without attending his duty. Hence, Dr Lohar recommended disciplinary action against him.
Disale did not take permission for his award nomination. He also refused to submit his correspondence with the award organisers, a photo of his acceptance of award or a video clip. He was granted a leave of 10 days to visit Toronto (Canada) to submit a book project. Besides this, he was not granted any leave, stated the probe panel report.
