Four killed, three injured in accident on Aurangabad-Solapur highway

Terkheda (Osmanabad)   Deccan Express -Aurangabad-Solapur highway | Four persons were killed while three others were injured in an accident on Aurangabad-Solapur highway near Yermala (taluka Kalamb) in the small hours today.

In all, 18 devotees were travelling in a bus from Malegaon to Tirupati on a pilgrimage. As the bus approached Yermala, one of its wheel got punctured around 2 am on Friday. The driver of the vehicle halted the vehicle on the side of the road. While the wheel was being replaced, some people were sitting in the bus and others got off. Suddenly, a speeding tempo rammed into the bus. The impact of the crash was so high that the tempo landed in a nearby field while the bus was thrown away from the road at some distance.

The bus was travelling from Malegaon to Tirupati. The tempo driver is absconding. The deceased were identified as Sharad Vitthalrao Devare, Vilas Mahadu Bachav, Jagdish Darkar, and Satish Suryavanshi (all residents of Malegaon). The injured Sanjay Bajirao Sawant, Bharat Gyandev Pagar, Gokul Hiraman Shewale were admitted to a hospital in Osmanabad.
