Kolhapur : Deccan Express | Coronavirus : Corona epidemic is decreasing in Maharashtra but, the number of corona cases is still high in some districts of the state. In view of the situation of corona in Kolhapur and Sangli districts of western Maharashtra, the central team recently visited both the districts. After this tour, the central team has given important advice to the state government.
After reviewing the situation of corona by visiting Kolhapur and Sangli districts, the central team has expressed concern over the increasing number of corona in these two districts. The central team has also suggested complete lockdown in both the districts. State health officials said they are waiting for the report of the central team. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that there are 10 districts in the state where the positivity rate is very high.
The central team has visited some of these districts. The central team has also advised to increase corona testing, contact tracing and vaccination in these districts. Director of National Center for Disease Control Dr. Sujit Singh said, “We are following all the protocols. I am going to Delhi soon and I will request the Center to supply more corona vaccines.”
He further said, “We are also investigating whether there is any new form of corona in the state or not.”
