After the Central Board of Education canceled the Class XII examination on the background of Covid-19, the Class XII examination which will now be conducted by the State Board of Education has been canceled. The decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting on Wednesday. The decision will be communicated to the High Court after the approval of the State Disaster Management Authority.

In view of the growing contagion of corona, the cabinet had agreed to cancel the 12th class examination. The Corona crisis is not over yet. In such a situation, it is not appropriate to endanger the lives of students, teachers and teaching staff by taking exams. The Minister expressed the view that the 12th standard examination should be canceled on the same criteria on which the 10th standard examination was canceled. In the meeting, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray sought the views of all. This will be decided at the meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority.

School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that the school education department has sent a proposal regarding the 12th examination to the State Disaster Management Authority. The Department of Education will decide a formula on how to get the result of class XII without taking the exam. One of the options is to average the marks of Class IX, X, XI and get the result but last year there was no XI. So the big dilemma is facing the education department.
