11 Teams Of India-US Scientists Engaged in Research For COVID-19 Solution

New Delhi : 11 teams of Indian and American scientists will soon jointly work on ‘out of box’ methods to deal with Corona. The task of these teams will be to design sensors to identify corona symptoms, ranging from antiviral therapy to fight the corona.

According to the release of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 11 teams of Indian and American scientists will soon jointly create preliminary diagnostic tests, antiviral therapy, drug reposing, ventilator research, disinfection machines, and a sensor-based tracking system to detect corona symptoms.

According to a ministry release, the work of these teams under the COVID-19 Ignition Grant issued by the US-India Science and Technology Endowment Fund (USISTEF) in April 2020 will be to carry out these initiatives in the fight against Corona through a bilateral review process.

The Indo-US Science and Technology Forum will announce the Research Award for which the governments of India and the United States jointly fund. The DST said in its statement that the teams have been selected by the US-India Science and Technology Endowment Fund, USISTEF.

Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ashutosh Sharma said, scientists of both countries will try to understand the epidemic closely. Jonathan Maragolis, deputy assistant secretary of the US Department of State’s Science, Space and Health, says India and the United States can jointly play an important role in fighting Corona.
