Mumbai: Bollywood superstars Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar bagged Dadasaheb Phalke Awards for ‘Best Actor’ in the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2021 held on Saturday. The star-studded event honored the talented artists for their outstanding contribution to the Indian cinema.
The Critics Best Actor was awarded posthumously to late Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR), who passed away last year. He last starred in Dil Bechara, released after his passing.
Deepika and Akshay won the award for their acclaimed performance in notable movies ‘Chhapaak’ and ‘Laxmii’ respectively. Kiara Advani won the ‘Critic’s Best Actress’ award while Sushmita Sen won ‘Best Actress-Web Series’.
This year, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was honoured posthumously with the ‘Critic’s Best Actor’ award. Taking to its official Instagram account, the core team of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival announced the same and wrote, ‘Celebrating the dedication you’ve shown on the way to this achievement. Congratulations to Late @sushantsinghrajput for winning the ‘Critic’s Best Actor’ award at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2021. We miss you!’.
