Pune : deccan express – ST Worker Suicide | Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has suspended the employees, who have been on a strike for a long time demanding the merger of MSRTC into the state government. Some of their demands were met. However, they were adamant on the merger demand.
Some suspended employees are taking the extreme step. In an incident in Pimpri Chinchwad, a suspended MSRTC employee hanged himself at his residence.
The victim has been identified as Sanjay Sarvade. He is survived by three children and wife. However, the exact reason behind his suicide could not be ascertained.
He was a driver attached to the Vallabhnagar ST Depot. He was participating in the strike. His close relatives said he was suspended from his services recently. On Saturday night, he had dinner with his family. Later, he hanged himself in the bathroom at his residence. His children checked the bathroom as he was not coming out for a long time. They found him hanging.
However, it was not known why he committed suicide. The Sangvi police have registered the matter. Investigation is on.
