Pune : deccan express – Two schoolchildren were seriously hurt in Kharadi after a dumper tyre burst. The accident took place at around 11.30 am on Friday. The injured students have been identified as Devansh Chavan (15), a resident of Moseswadi, Vadgaon Sheri, and Prathmesh Desai (15), a resident of Vishrantwadi.
They are being treated at a private hospital. The driver of the vehicle has been booked for reckless driving. According to Senior PI Sunil Jadhav, Devansh and Prathmesh study in Std IX in the Nirmala Convent School. They were walking towards a bus stop after their classes got over. The dumper (MH12QG3867) was coming speedily from the Radisson Hotel side. Suddenly, one of its tyre got burst. The two students walking along the roadside were blown off by the air pressure from the burst tyre. They were seriously injured in the incident and were rushed to the hospital.
The dumper driver is on the run. The Chandan Nagar police have booked him while PSI Vivek Shisal is investigating the matter.
