Pune: deccan express – Pune police | History-sheeter Mangesh Mane and his other five gang members have been booked for terrorising citizens, extortion, and murder attempt under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). This the 62nd MCOCA action taken by the Pune police under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta.
Mangesh Anil Mane (26), a resident of Upper Indira Nagar, Bibvewadi, Ladappa alias Akhilesh alias Ladya Chandrakant Kalshetty (20), a resident of Kondhwa Budruk, Suraj Ankush Bokade (22), a resident of Kondhwa, Sagar Krushna Jadhav, a resident of Upper Indira Nagar, Prathmesh Ramesh Hanalnande and Pratik Ramesh Hanalnande, both residents of Kondhwa, have been booked in this regard.
In all, 10 physical offences have been registered against the Mangesh Mane gang at the Kondhwa police station. They have committed crime even after preventive action against them. They terrorised citizens in Kondhwa, Bibvewadi, and Bharati Vidyapeeth areas. The gang is involved in issuing threats, attempting murder, inflicting serious injuries, possessing illegal lethal arms, and extorting people.
Kondhwa police station Senior PI Sardar Patil had sent a proposal to act against the gang through ACP Rajendra Galande, DCP Namrata Patil to Addl CP Namdev Chavan. He scrutinized and approved it.
PIs Jagannath Jankar, Gokul Raut, APIs Swaraj Patil, Anil Suravase, constables Jagdish Patil, Rajendra Nanavare, Rupnavar assisted in preparing the proposal.
