Youth shot at in Bibvewadi, 11 booked

Pune : deccan expressPune Crime |  Upset over a quarrel, a gang tried to murder a youth in Bibvewadi. The youth was shot at while the gang members were carrying sickles, a staff to terrorise people in the area. The police registered an offence against 11 people at the Bibvewadi police station. The incident took place at the Shivshankar Society in Bibvewadi on Saturday night. (Pune Crime)



The accused have been identified as Saurabh Sarvade, Rupesh Sonawane alias DJ, Nilesh Sonawane, Ganesh Jagdale, Baba Badbade, Anil Kamble and their 5-6 accomplices. Amit Kailas Thopte (32), a resident of Bibvewadi, lodged a complaint in this connection.



According to the police, the complainant and the accused had a quarrel at Waghjai temple on Friday. The complainant, his brother Amol Thopte, Ganesh Modavat and other 4-5 people were chatting at around 11 pm on Saturday night in a lane near their housing society. The accused arrived there carrying weapons. They abused the complainant and threatened to kill him. A gang member took out a pistol and fired two rounds of bullet at the complainant. They were shouting loudly. Thus, they tried to spread terror in the area. After being informed, the police arrived at the spot and seized two cartridges.



Police officers visited the incident spot. Among them were DCP Namrata Patil, ACP Rajendra Galande, Senior PI Sunil Jhaware, PI Anita Hivarkar, API Pravin Kalukhe, PSI Vikrant Dige and PSI Sanjay Adling.



The police are investigating further.
