Ammar Mukhtar Sheikh (28), a resident of Ashiana Society, Sayyad Nagar, Hadapsar has lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar police station. Accordingly, an FIR has been filed against Sahil Sheikh (22), Nouman Sayyad and Jamir Sheikh, all residents of Hadapsar. The incident took place at 10.30 pm opposite Sahil Sheikh’s residence.
According to the police, the complainant and the accused Sahil Sheikh are friends. Four years ago, the complainant had given Rs 50,000 as a loan to Sahil’s grandfather Mohammad. Sahil was present during the transaction and he had taken the responsibility of returning the money. Sahil’s mother sold her house last week. Hence, the complainant was asking for money from Sahil and his grandfather. However, he was dilly dallying on returning the money. On June 26 at 10.30 pm, the complainant went to Fortune Plaza to buy a paan. Sahil was also present there. When the complainant asked him to return the money, he asked him to speak with his grandfather. When the complainant asked Sahil to come with him to his grandfather’s house, he refused. The complainant went alone to meet Sahil’s grandfather. When he knocked on the door, Sahil, his friend Nouman Sayyad and his uncle Jamir Sheikh came there.
Sahil started beating up the complainant with a bamboo stick and Jamir also assaulted the complainant. Sahil threatened to kill the complainant and thrashed him. Nouman took out a sickle and assaulted the complainant on his head. He hit him again and he fell on the road. The complainant went to the terrace of the building and locked it to save his life. He waited for 15-20 minutes and later came to the Hadapsar police station with his friend. He was admitted to the Sassoon Hospital. He received 14 stitches on his head.
The Hadapsar police have registered a case of attempt to murder.
