The Vishrantwadi police have filed an FIR against Aniket Urankar alias Hurya (24), a resident of Aundh Road and Prasanna Thul alias Gotya (21), a resident of Yerawada and arrested Thul. The deceased have been identified as Vicky Prakash Lanka (20) and Sushant Sachin Gadde (21), both residents of Vishrantwadi. Mohit Nananbhau Lanka (18), a resident of Vishrantwadi, has lodged a complaint at the Vishrantwadi police station.

According to the police, during the lockdown, Vicky had quarrels with the accused. Aniket’s friend Akash Waghmare was teasing Vicky’s sister and Vicky had questioned him about this. There was a quarrel between them on June 6 at 11.30 pm. The accused offered alcohol to Vicky and Sushant. They took them and pushed them in a mine. They died after drowning in the water. Their relatives lodged a missing complaint on June 8. Their bodies were found in a mine on June 11.

Senior PI DV Bhapkar said that there were no injuries on their bodies. Since Vicky had a criminal background, the police started an investigation by considering various possibilities. They found that Thul and Aniket were seen last with Vicky and Sushant. When he was grilled, Thul admitted killing them with the help of Aniket.

Thul and Aniket offered liquor to Vicky and after he was drunk, they took him near the mine and pushed him into the water. Since Sushant had seen this, he was also pushed into the water.
