Pune : Deccan Express – Pune crime | The Anti-Robbery and Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad of the Pune Police has busted a racket, which used to take four-wheelers on rent and sell them. They have arrested Sumit Yadavrao Kherde (30), a resident of Wakad, hailing from Yavatmal, and Ganesh Tukaram Bhalsingh (31), a resident of Ahmednagar.
Eight motor cars worth Rs 30 lakh have been seized from their possession. They used to cheat general public by winning their confidence.
Mahesh Balkrishna Suryavanshi (26), a resident of Dhankawadi, lodged a complaint in this regard. Suryavanshi had given his car to Prashant Patil to be given on rent. However, he was not paid rent and his car was sold without his knowledge. Thus, he was cheated.
The Anti-Robbery and Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad investigated the case. They arrested Kherde and Bhalsingh on the basis of technical analysis and seized eight cars worth Rs 30 lakhs.
The action was taken under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge, ACP Gajanan Tompe and Senior PI Rajendra Kadam. PSI Shubhangi Narke, Shahid Shaikh, Nilesh Shivtare, Dhananjay Tajane, Maggy Jadhav, Ganesh Dhage, Ganesh Patole, Shrikant Dagade, Sumit Takpere, Hrishikesh Kolap, Akshay Gaikwad, Shivaji Satpute and Narayan Bankar participated in the action.
